Mission Statement

Afghanistan Snowboard is an independent, nonprofit, and government-recognized organization dedicated to advancing snowboarding across Afghanistan. Since our founding in 2017, we have worked to promote the sport as a platform for youth empowerment, social inclusion, and national pride. We aim to inspire the next generation of Afghan athletes while fostering a sense of peace, unity, and opportunity through winter sports.

Vision

Our vision is to establish Afghanistan as a thriving hub for snowboarding in the region and beyond. We believe in using sport to reflect the strength, resilience, and beauty of Afghan society. Through meaningful programs and international partnerships, we aspire to represent a peaceful and hopeful image of Afghanistan to the world—one built on youth leadership, gender equality, and positive community transformation.

Our Story

Afghanistan Snowboard began its journey in 2017 by officially joining the World Snowboard Federation (WSF). The organization was founded with the belief that winter sports, particularly snowboarding, can be a force for positive change. What started as a small initiative—using modified skateboards in the mountains—quickly grew into a national movement, connecting young people from diverse backgrounds through the thrill of snowboarding.

From the very beginning, our goal was not only to build athletes but to build a better society. We saw snowboarding as a dynamic and exciting way to engage Afghan youth, encourage peace, and promote social inclusion. Our programs have brought joy and purpose to countless young people, offering them a sense of identity, confidence, and global connection. Snowboarding, for us, is more than a sport—it is a message of hope, resilience, and peace.

Our journey has included key milestones, such as organizing national competitions, launching youth training camps, and participating in international events. In 2025, we proudly made history by representing Afghanistan at the Winter Asian Games in Harbin, China—a significant achievement not only for our athletes but for the entire country.
